Who needs a Form BA-8?
In the State of New Jersey, the Motor Vehicle Commission issues a special MVC corp codes for each motor vehicle that operates as a business vehicle and is owned by any of the following business entities that operate in New Jersey:

Corporations;

Limited Partnerships;

Limited Liability Partnerships;

Limited Liability Companies;
-
Domestic Profit and Foreign Profit.
Each of these entities must register their business vehicles in order to comply with the state law. But how to get a corp code in NJ? The company owner and/or executive officer must fill out the form BA-8.
What is Form BA-8 for?
This document is a form of request which consists of necessary information to obtain the motor vehicle corp code. This form is needed for the Motor Vehicle Commission to register the vehicle and its owner in the database.
This form certifies that the applicable vehicles are principally garaged in New Jersey by the legally operated company mentioned in this form.
Is the Corp code request form accompanied by other forms?
A photocopy of a valid driver’s license of the company official completing this form must be attached to this form during its filing. The party submitting the application at a motor vehicle agency will be required to show an original identity document.
How do I fill out the Corp code request?
The following information must be provided in order to complete the form:

Legal name of company;

Federal Tax Payer ID;

Phone number;

Mailing address;
-
Business description;
-
Information on the person that files the document;

Information on the vehicles of the company that have been already registered;
Once completed, this form must be signed and dated.
